My name is Marshall Shorten. I’m studying Animation at DePaul University with a concentration in VFX and a minor in Sound Design.

My background is in oil painting and videography, which is what brought me toward animation and post-production. I’m interested in combining the physical quality of painted images with the timing, movement, and control of digital work. This comes across in bold graphic visuals.

I gravitate toward music videos, poster design, and experimental visual media. My work is built around texture, color, pacing, and sound, with an focus on making each project feel specific and atmospheric.
